Old line
Do not cancel the existing line before the transfer finishes.
Customers may be able to transfer an active number to Gov iPhone service. Keep the old line active until the number transfer is complete.

Current carrier account information must match.
Many carriers require a transfer or port-out PIN.
Follow the new service activation instructions after the port is ready.
A phone number transfer usually requires the current carrier account number, the account holder name, billing ZIP code and a transfer or port-out PIN. Enter the information exactly as it appears on the existing account. A mismatch can delay or reject the request.
Do not cancel the old service before Gov iPhone confirms that the number transfer is complete. The old provider must be able to release the active number, and a device request or Lifeline transfer does not automatically move the telephone number. These are separate provider processes.
Save important voicemail messages before the transfer because voicemail may not move with the number. After confirmation, follow the assigned SIM or eSIM activation instructions and test calling and messaging. If a transfer stalls, use Enrollment Support with the relevant account details, but do not send passwords or full sensitive records through ordinary email.
Gov iPhone Enrollment Support can help with eligibility, the provider application and current device options.
