Bring-your-own-device review is based on the specific phone. Have the model identifier and IMEI available through the secure process, confirm that the device is paid off when required and ask the current carrier to remove any network lock before changing service. A familiar model name alone does not prove that every regional or carrier variant is compatible.
Back up important contacts and files before activation. Gov iPhone will confirm whether the phone supports the required network, physical SIM or eSIM path and service configuration. Compatibility does not guarantee coverage at every address, so the service location must also be reviewed.
If the phone cannot be activated, compare the current provider phone options or request another compatible device. For a current iPhone, use the detailed BYOD iPhone guide. Technical Support can help after the assigned activation path is ready.
